Subtitle Fun

Subtitles are brilliant. Watching the Open in a public house and reading Alliss, Torrance and his pals insights into the days proceeding you come across some very interesting things.  We don’t know if they have a team of stenographers onboard or use voice recognition software but there’s the odd typo which the BBC seek to correct. Check out some our favourites from the weekends coverage.

For Ryan – Poor arron – (correction) 4 Iron

Advanced foreword – (correction) Bounced forward

One of these right to left poets – (correction) putts

Sergio with 1,362 goals – (correction) 136 to go

Reyal libberman St Annes – (correction) Royal Lytham, St Annes

And our favourite…

June Direct – (correction) Jim Furyk

Off the back of these we’re never going to watch a live sporting event on the BBC with the volume up again. However as the Beeb are already advertising their coverage of the World Bowls Tour the chances are we wouldn’t watch it at all.

June Direct, yesterday.
